Proclaiming Freedom
As a “scribbler, from way back,” Charleen dreamed of writing a book someday, but she was told it would be a waste of time, and that no one would buy it. As it turns out, two decades later, it was the path she was meant to follow.
Char’s desire to pour into her grandchildren’s lives motivates her to write. With the world’s structure shifting like wildfire, she set her heart on conveying the truth of God’s Word clearly and candidly, leaving a lasting legacy. She doesn’t measure success by sales but by the fulfillment she feels, knowing she is making a difference. When someone’s life is changed for the better, she feels good about that.
Having spent most of her life trying to fit in, the author stands as living proof that God is still active in the world today. She eagerly shares how God’s relentless love and mercy continue to transform her. The visible changes lend credibility to her story.
Charleen is confident in the Lord, but without Him, she fears dark, enclosed spaces and not being enough. Let’s face it: she wouldn’t last five minutes without Him. The author is just an ordinary girl serving an extraordinary God, who can do much with our feeble efforts when He adds His power to them.
Char lives with her husband, Stan, who still runs 5Ks in his old age. She feels giddy for no reason when she looks at him, especially when there’s kissing. She also has a fur baby, Tuffy, who is a real ‘playboy.’
She enjoys quiet moments, meditation, and Rocky Road ice cream. She also has an unhealthy obsession with FreeCell.
